M. Ward - "Primitive Girl"

M. Ward's transformation into Leonard Cohen is nearly complete. Take the single "Primitive Girl," the newest cut from Ward's upcoming A Wasteland Companion. It's a short little tune positively bursting with a retro vibe, and it's got a great hook lead by a pulsing pop piano riff. Ward lyrically pines after his girl, singing in his signature gruff, crooning lament. And before you know it, it's over, leaving you wanting more. The bad news is A Wasteland Companion doesn't come out 'til April 10; the good news is you can hit repeat on "Primitive Girl" until then, no one's stopping you.
