Grimes at Holocene - Tuesday, February 21

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Wed, Feb 22, 2012 at 11:15 AM

Last night, on the day her breakthrough album Visions was released, Canada's Grimes played Portland's Holocene. Photographer Minh Tran was on hand to grab these shots in a very packed house with limited mobility—the lights were also kept down very low during the set, but he was able to get these shots of Grimes' Claire Boucher in action.

More after the jump!

Was Minh the fat dude in the black fedora? Because he wasn't paying attention to the show at all. I hope you're not paying him.

But seriously. Fun show! It almost went on without a glitch. The middle band deserve credit for having a seizure inducing LED light show. Also some kind of LED jacket/MIDI set-up that I didn't quite understand.

And white people still don't dance in Portland. Since I don't leave the house much, I was oddly relieved that this was still the case.

But imagine having a MIDI led triggering jacket which interacts with the band Fruit Cup, I bet you would leave the house more often. Or you could go with the normal Led jacket stuff which could be fun too.
