The Afghan Whigs Alert!

Posted by Courtney Ferguson on Wed, May 23, 2012 at 3:14 PM

So there's an ad in front of this, but holy balls is it worth enduring for the Afghan Whigs' performance of Congregation's "I'm Her Slave" on Jimmy Fallon last night. This video is a web exclusive that they did—hit the jump for their on-air performance of Mary "Queenie" Lyons' "See and Don't See," which you can download for free over on the Whigs' website. They look fantastic and sound even better on this blistering set. Greg Dulli makes my stomach hurt. The reunited band's been dropping tour dates left and right these days, mostly in Europe and they're playing in New York tonight. With the announcement that they'll be playing the Austin City Limits Fest in mid-October, I have a real strong feeling we might get to see them tear shit up in Portland. Fingers fucking crossed.

Starts at the 36:45 mark (stupid Hulu).

Is that a black turtleneck on Greg? Why yes, yes, it is.
