There sure are a lot of "Young" bands these days, but one that shouldn't escape your notice is NYC's Young Magic, who make globetrotting, woozily intoxicating music that's headtrippy in a fully immersive way—like sticking your head underwater in a bathtub of sound. They're coming to town on Saturday, July 14, playing the Doug Fir on a bill with Quilt, Imaginary Cities, and Portland's own Swahili for what is going to be a jam-packed night. And we're giving away free tickets! (Bet you saw that coming.)
If you would like to win the pair of tickets to see Young Magic, send an email to this address with "Young Magic" in the subject line. Include your first and last name in the email. We'll choose one at random, and send the winner on his or her merry way to the show for free. And this is a quickie, so get your entries in by 3 pm tomorrow (Friday)—after that, this contest will be closed forevermore.
Not sure? Want to hear some Young Magic to help you decide? You're in luck: Their debut album, Melt, is streaming in full below. Check it out.
