Leverage Models is the new project of Shannon Fields of Stars Like Fleas–-it's largely a one-man deal, although friends tend to turn up from time to time. While Fields lives in Upstate New York now, he's been putting tunes out on Portland label Hometapes—including the new single for "Cooperative Extensions," an excellent track of world-spanning pop that will do to your ears what this bright July summer sun is doing to your mood. Leverage Models is playing a Portland show on Thursday at Ella Street Social Club, and Hometapes sent along a new remix of "Cooperative Extensions" our way this morning, which we're premiering for you now. It's remixed by NYC duo Zambri, and casts a gotham-shadow over Fields' ecstatic beats, locating something dramatic within and expanding the song's already formidable headspace—listen below.
