Leaving behind superstardom in his homeland, Janka Nabay is now slugging it out on the indie-rock circuit in the US. He's found some like-minded compadres and enlisted members of Gang Gang Dance, Highlife, Zs, and other hip Brooklyn bands to play with him. He's performing tonight as part of the 13 Months of Sunshine dance party, Holocene's monthly event of African music. It's electronic dance music with deep roots, and it's like nothing else out there—judging by the buzz around his live show, tonight's show is highly recommended. If you were wondering where to sweat tonight, this is the place.
You can listen to Janka Nabay and the Bubu Gang's album, Feba, in full here.
