Win Tickets to Dirty Projectors!

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Thu, Jul 19, 2012 at 4:46 PM

[UPDATE: This contest is closed and the winner has been notified.]

The new Dirty Projectors album, Swing Lo Magellan, is remarkably, astonishingly good—no disappointing follow up to Bitte Orca here—and the New York group's live show is an exuberant display of their impressive musicianship. They're one of those bands that are just overwhelmingly capable on all levels. They're just great. All this fawning, I feel like their mom. (Also, they should put on a sweater. It's chilly out.)

So! We're giving away a pair of tickets to see 'em next week. They're playing the Crystal Ballroom on Wednesday, July 25, and if you've listened Swing Lo Magellan, you really, really, really want to go. Enter our giveaway by sending an email to this address. Put "I want to see Dirty Projectors" in the subject line and include your first and last name in the email. We'll select a winner at random using our high-tech Dirty Projector Winner-Picker Randomizing Machine (which cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars and can only be used for this particular contest—probably not the wisest investment, but oh well) and send them on their way.

You might have heard the lead single from Magellan, called "Gun Has No Trigger," but I'd like to leave you with the album's phenomenal opening track. It's so, so great.

Bonus! The incredible Wye Oak are opening, who are worth seeing in and of themselves. Contest closes Monday at 3 pm. Good luck!
