Tonight in Music: Buxton

Posted by Lex Chase on Mon, Oct 29, 2012 at 10:59 AM

(Bunk Bar, 1028 SE Water) With their winding brambles of guitars and banjos, Buxton might have sounded like one of a zillion other Americana folk acts. But the Houston five-piece's oddball songs and eerily compelling arrangements make for a sound far more airy than earthy. Buxton doesn't so much uphold musical traditions as upend them.
