Food fight! Titus Andronicus have long been favorites of End Hits, back from the early days of their first 7-inch, which was released on Portland's own Shake Appeal label. The New Jersey band has since gone on to play hundreds of hoarse-throated rock shows and make epic concept albums, but their latest, the splendid Local Business, sees them honing in the ranks and the big conceptual ideas for a (relatively) mean and lean rock 'n' roll album. It's a killer.
Titus Andronicus will be playing songs from Local Business, plus plenty of old favorites, when they come to Branx next week, on Friday, November 16. And we're giving away a pair of tickets to see them! Here's how to win: Send an email to this address with "Titus Andronicus" in the subject line, and include your first and last name in the email. You must also answer this little trivia question:
Titus Andronicus' new album Local Business includes a song called "Upon Viewing Oregon's Landscape with the Flood of Detritus." The song's title refers to an earlier Titus Andronicus song. NAME THAT SONG.Good luck! We'll select our winner at random from the correct answers, and send him or her off to the show. This contest closes on Monday, November 12 at 5 pm, so get entering! (You can also buy tickets here.) Here's some Titus to whet your appetite:
