Brainstorm on BreakThru Radio

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Wed, Dec 12, 2012 at 10:53 AM

Portland trio Brainstorm makes polyglot music, with heavy African influences and a Northwest indie-rock aesthetic. Their recent session for BreakThru Radio's BTR Live Studio series just went up yesterday, and you can check out the clip here. They perform the complex, spiraling "Maybe a Memory" complete with canon vocals, before sitting down for an interview. (Snippets of "Death Bells," "Flat Earth," and "The Crown Caves In" are also featured.)

Brainstorm's new album Heat Waves came out on Tender Loving Empire and is available on white vinyl, which, if you ask me, makes a perfect holiday gift. (Other formats are available as well.) You can also check out the recent remix of "Maybe a Memory" done by YACHT's Jeffrey Jerusalem. Both Brainstorm and Jeffrey Jerusalem perform at Holocene on New Year's Eve.
