Another week, another Mercury music section to soothe your jittered nerves as you gaze at the spectacular lineup for Barcelona's Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, then nervously realize it lands on the same exact weekend as Sasquatch.

Portland powerhouse live band Grandparents release their new live album tonight, recorded by the good folks at the Banana Stand (who we profiled a few months back).

PBR hosts semi-regular covers nights, each centered around a theme. This time, the theme is Cities, which each band tackling the music from a different city.

With her other band the Golden Bears, musician/artist Julianna Bright has made music geared to the grownup crowd, but her new project Cat Doorman is inclusive for folks of all ages.

Speaking of all ages, the School of Rock folks have a GREAT concert planned for tomorrow night at the Crystal Ballroom. We talked with organizers of the "Best! of Portland" show about pairing School of Rock students with Portland rock stars.
